This locally driven virtual education series aims to provide Aboriginal Health Professionals working in the WNSW PHN and WNSW LHD area with an opportunity to learn and yarn together with peers and key Public Health Unit presenters. This session will provide Aboriginal Health Professionals with an overview of the importance of skin health in preventing illness and disease including an understanding of how to keep skin healthy and what can go wrong if skin is not looked after.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand how skin protects us from illness and disease
  • Discuss diseases that affect us when our skin health is poor including scabies, strep infections, rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease
  • Outline how looking after our skin, including hygiene measures and healthy housing, can prevent illness and disease
