Far West NSW welcomes electronic referrals

A new digital system for managing referrals statewide is being introduced in the Far West of NSW to enhance the referral process for patients, referrers, and clinicians in outpatient services. The Far West Local Health District (FWLHD) has collaborated with eHealth NSW and HealthLink to facilitate the electronic transmission of referrals (eReferrals) to designated FWLHD outpatient services. This service is initially being implemented in the Far West region and will be extended to Western NSW in the near future.

Show Me The Way: Orange students showcasing local heroes through film

Show Me The Way (SMTW) is a First Nations organisation supporting high school students to reach their potential, develop their skills and celebrate culture. The vision of the program is to inspire and engage young Aboriginal &Torres Strait Islander people, and those from refugee backgrounds, using the medium of film. Students attend custom designed film workshops and create short documentary films uncovering the stories of local heroes.

Lifelong Strength and Wellness Program officially launched in Orange

The Lifelong Strength and Wellness Program, launched on Thursday 4 April at the Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS), demonstrates a positive step forward in promoting healthy aging in the community. The program launched in the Walu-win Centre at OAMS, and is a dedicated space for wellbeing and rehabilitation in Orange, western NSW. Walu-win means ‘healthy’ in Wiradjuri language.
