The Outback Eye Service saved Steve's vision

Steve has relied on one eye since losing sight in his right eye in a childhood accident. When his remaining eye developed serious complications in 2022, he faced the possibility of losing his vision altogether.

After an urgent referral to the Outback Eye Service clinic in Walgett, Steve was flown to Sydney Eye Hospital the same day, where he underwent a cornea transplant as a last resort to save his sight.

Against all expectations, the procedure was a success. Today, Steve’s vision has improved to 6/12, a life-changing outcome that has restored his independence and quality of life.
