Whether you’re seeking mental health support for yourself or someone you care about, the Medicare Mental Health helpline is here for you. This free, confidential service offers professional guidance and advice, whether you’ve been managing mental health challenges for a while or reaching out for the first time.
Available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (excluding public holidays)
You don’t need a referral – just call to speak to a trained professional who will listen, offer advice, and connect you with the right mental health services in your area.

You can also visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre for free, confidential mental health support in a safe, welcoming space.
These centres are open to anyone aged 18 and over, and you don’t need an appointment, referral, or Medicare card to access care. Services are staffed by experienced mental health professionals and people with lived experience of mental health challenges.

Access your local Medicare Mental Health Centre for face-to-face support and a welcoming entry point for adults (and their support people) who may be experiencing mental health challenges, a crisis or distress.
