Palliative and end of life care is an important aspect of patient care in general practice. GPs working in rural / regional settings often have a strong relationship with patients and families and are already skilled in palliative and end of life care. This education session will help to further upskill and increase GP knowledge regarding refractory and complex symptom management and support ongoing collaboration between local healthcare practitioners, specialist palliative care team and support services.

This education session and case study will explore challenging symptom management at the end of life.  It will also encourage the group to share and reflect on challenges experienced whilst caring for patients with a life limiting illness.
