New public medical termination of pregnancy clinic in Dubbo
Dr Kelly Bradley is working with the Women’s Health Service for WNSWLHD in Dubbo offering public medical termination of pregnancy (MTOP) up to 63 days gestation of intrauterine pregnancy on a face to face basis at Manera Plaza rooms in Myall Street, Dubbo. This is initially a limited service as part of a trial for access to public MTOP provision for WNSWLHD patients located in the Dubbo referral region.
What if a patient is uncertain of options?
If a patient is uncertain of their decision regarding an unplanned pregnancy, or would like to discuss options and further information, they can call the NSW Pregnancy Choices hotline for counselling and advice 1800 008 463 Monday to Friday 0830-1700.
How can patients access the medical termination of pregnancy clinic?
Patients or clinicians can ring and leave a message with the Women’s Health Service clinicians on 1800 008 422 for staff to answer or return calls during business hours.
A patient may self-refer, or referrals and results can be faxed to 6809 7972, or emailed to wnswlhd-womenshealth@health.nsw.gov.au
What services are provided?
If ultrasound to confirm intrauterine pregnancy has not been already been attended, an ultrasound referral, blood tests, and opportunistic STI screening can be arranged for all clients through the Women’s Health Service clinicians. This may also be arranged prior to appointment through GP or other services.
Assessment, management, and provision of prescriptions for medical termination of pregnancy and supportive medications will be provided at face to face appointments with Medical Officer and Women’s Health Service clinicians in Dubbo, and follow up will be attended virtually or face to face.
Is there a cost to the patient?
There is no cost to patients to attend this service, however patients may have out of pocket expenses related to the imaging or ultrasounds, pathology or medications.
