Announcement from the WNSW PHN Board

The Western Health Alliance Limited (WHAL), trading as the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) has announced that Andrew Coe’s appointment as Chief Executive Officer has concluded. The Western Health Alliance Ltd operates the Primary Health Network across central, western and far west NSW, commissioning primary health programs funded by the Commonwealth.


WNSW PHN’s Board of Directors acknowledges and thanks Andrew for his dedicated service over the last three years representing the needs of primary care in the region and advocating for integrated, innovative and place-based solutions. Andrew is looking forward to enjoying time with his family and we wish him all the best.


The Board have begun the recruitment process for a new CEO. In the interim, WNSW PHN Board Director, Mr Michael Newman, will be working closely with the Executive Management team to ensure that strategic and operational activities continue. Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee, Mr Matthew Banning, will also be providing support based from the WNSW PHN Bathurst office.


Following a review of changing environmental conditions, WHAL charitable subsidiary - Priority Red Health Foundation has ceased trading effective as of 27 March 2024. Where feasible, services will be incorporated into WNSW PHN.
WNSW PHN has a strong team of Executive Managers and staff in place who will work closely alongside the Board to continue to engage with communities and stakeholders to improve health and wellbeing outcomes and support sustainable primary care.
