Last Tuesday, 24th of October, headspace Cowra was visited by headspace National, Marathon Health and WNSW PHN to celebrate their first year of service delivery.

Headspace Cowra began 10 years ago as an outreach service from Bathurst. From this time, it has grown in servicing and supporting the local community. Since their evolution as a satellite service 18 months ago, they have been working in and with the community for service design that meets the needs of their local community.

During the visit last week, the team reflected on the first 18 months of service delivery, showcasing their achievements, challenges and what is planned of the future.

Headspace Cowra is a rural satellite centre that services a large area, including Cowra and the broader communities of Canowindra, Carcoar, Eugowra, Grenfell, Young and Boorowa. They are a trusted youth service and have an engaged and enthusiastic YRG (youth reference group) that supports their work.

The future of headspace Cowra looks bright with plans to extend operating hours, continue outreach initiatives and establish new groups.
