Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is proud to announce that we have achieved ISO 9001 certification, an internationally recognised standard for quality management systems.
This certification confirms that WNSW PHN has robust systems in place to consistently deliver high‑quality services, meet regulatory requirements, and continually improve the way we work. It follows the successful completion of a comprehensive Stage 2 external audit, with no non‑conformities identified.
ISO 9001 focuses on putting people at the centre of quality, ensuring clear processes, strong governance, effective risk management, and ongoing evaluation. For WNSW PHN, this means greater consistency, accountability and reliability in how we support communities, health professionals and partners across Western and Far West NSW.
Achieving certification reflects significant work undertaken across the organisation to strengthen documentation, clarify responsibilities, and embed quality and continuous improvement into everyday practice.
While certification is a major milestone, it is not the end point. Maintaining ISO 9001 requires ongoing monitoring, regular internal and external audits, and a strong organisational culture of learning and improvement. WNSW PHN will continue to build on this foundation to ensure our systems remain effective, responsive and aligned with community needs.
Building on this work, WNSW PHN is now also progressing towards ISO 27001 certification, which focuses on information security management. This next step will further strengthen how we protect sensitive information and maintain trust with our stakeholders and communities. This achievement reinforces WNSW PHN’s commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality and culturally appropriate primary health care outcomes, and supports our broader strategic goals across the region.
