Resources for health professionals who care for veterans!

Looking to understand DVA and the care of veterans better? There are several new resources available.

DVA website

DVA resources are available in the provider section of the DVA website.

VETs HeLP

DVA have worked with Medcast to create the Veterans Healthcare eLearning Platform (VETs HeLP).  VETs HeLP proves free, CPD-accredited learning opportunities that cover key aspects of caring for veterans and their families.  VETs HeLP includes webinars by experienced health care providers, interactive learning modules, blogs, and podcasts covering topics such as: understanding the veteran experience and transition to civilian life, mental health and complex mental health, chronic pain, and setting up a CVC program. Each one includes practical information on DVA billing, processes, services and claims relating to the topic.

HealthPathways

DVA have helped create a set of Veterans’ HealthPathways that can found in your usual HealthPathways platform.  https://www.healthpathwayscommunity.org/

RACGP CHECK

RACGP curriculum

The RACGP have included a military and veteran health unit in the syllabus.  The resources from DVA, VETs HeLP, and RACGP check can help cover the skills, knowledge and attitudes expected of GPs working in military and veteran health.
