Pain is an important mechanism which tells us when we need to slow down, take extra care or when an action or situation may be causing us harm. It is thought that 15 – 20% of population suffer from pain. Some types of pain however can be debilitating and it is estimated that poor chronic pain management in people could cost the economy > $100 billion each year.

This webinar will explore what pain is, different types of pain and the challenges health professional face in treating pain and the challenges patients experience when living with chronic pain.

Tune in to hear from our local experts on what needs to be done to improve the quality of care for those living with pain. On the panel will be Distinguished Professor David Adams from the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI) and Clinical Nurse Consultant for Pain, Janelle White, Acting Director of the electronic Persistent Pain Outcomes Collaboration (ePPOC) based at Innovation Campus, UOW.
