Dr Jonathan Ho is a practising GP based in Wagga Wagga, with a special interest in Chronic Pain Management, Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Forensics Medicine. Dr Hos’ dedication to the community was recognised in 2017 when he received the GP Registrar of the Year Award, and then in 2019 he was awarded the NSW Mental Health Commissioners’ Community Champion Award.

The harm done by chronic substances usage including opiate use and misuse is a topical issue. This webinar will examine the pharmacological and non-pharmacological strategies available to patients with chronic pain and introduce GPs to some useful online AOD professional development programs, resources and referral pathways for chronic pain management.

  • Describe a safe approach to chronic pain management involving non-pharmacological and pharmacological means.
  • Recognise the unique risk factors associated with medication prescribing (including opiates) for pain management.
