This training is designed to support clinicians in developing and maintaining competency in Implanon insertion and removal procedures, with relevance for general practice, women’s health, and primary care. 

Fully funded positions under the AUSLARC scholarship are now available for this training, so we encourage you to enrol now via the registration link as spots are filling fast. 

Content includes:

  • Contraceptive options and their efficacy
  • Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) including contraceptive implants
  • Pharmacokinetics of Implanon NXT
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Initiation of the contraceptive implant including client consultation, administration of local anaesthetic and the safe insertion and removal of the implant in a primary care setting
  • Management of common side effects
