Dr Vijay Pandya Recognised with Jean Emile Serisier Roll of Honour at Dubbo Rhino Awards
Dr Vijay Pandya, a long-serving general practitioner at Dubbo Medical and Allied Health Group (DMAHG), was recently honoured with the prestigious Jean Emile Serisier Roll of Honour at the Dubbo Business Chamber Rhino Awards. The award, presented in October, celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the business community, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, strategic vision, and innovation while inspiring future generations of leaders.
Dr Pandya, who has dedicated 40 years to healthcare in Dubbo, was recognised not only for his clinical work but also for his leadership in establishing and growing DMAHG. As one of the founding members of the practice, Dr Pandya has created a comprehensive medical service focused on providing exceptional care for all patients. Dr Pandya is also passionate about teaching medical students and registrars.
Originally from Uganda and a graduate of the University of NSW, Dr Pandya has spent his career building a practice that reflects his commitment to both quality care and community service.
One of DMAHG’s founding partners, Dr Sunil Jacob, says, “Vijay has been an instrumental mentor throughout my GP training in Dubbo. With his vision and foresight, he played a key role in the founding of DMAHG, and I’m fortunate that we have remained not only colleagues but also good friends.”
Dr Jacob goes on to say that Dr Pandya’s “contributions to both the medical community and the Dubbo area are immeasurable. Over the years, he has cared for multiple generations of families, always with a welcoming and compassionate approach. [Dr Pandya’s] extensive medical knowledge and ability to manage complex situations in a GP setting have made him an invaluable asset to both patients and colleagues alike.”
This recognition at the Rhino Awards further underscores Dr Pandya's lasting impact on Dubbo’s healthcare and business communities.
