Forbes GP, Dr Richard Draper, named RACGP’s NSW GP of the Year

Dr Richard Draper has been named NSW / ACT GP of the Year by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Draper, in partnership with Courtney Hodges, opened Forbes Medicine and Mind five years ago. In that time, the practice has had to navigate COVID-19 and its restrictions (along with the rest of their field) and also relocate and rebuild after the flooding in Forbes in November 2022.

The prestigious General Practitioner of the Year Award is judged on a candidate’s understanding and commitment to general practice, their service to the public and their involvement in training and continuing professional development.

As NSW / ACT award recipient, Dr Draper will now be considered, along with other State and Territory award recipients, for the Australian honour from Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. National Award winners will be announced on 25 October 2023 at WONCA 2023.

We congratulate Dr Draper on this outstanding achievement, wish him all the best with the National Awards and thank him for his incredible and tireless work in general practice in our Western NSW region.
