WNSW PHN Announces Transition from Synergia Analytics Primary Health Information Platform

Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) has announced that the Synergia Analytics Primary Health Information Platform will cease operation from July 2026 as part of a broader review of general practice data extraction, reporting and analytics services.

The review is being undertaken to ensure future investments in practice data and reporting infrastructure align with the evolving needs of general practice, contemporary technology solutions and WNSW PHN’s long-term strategic and financial priorities.

WNSW PHN acknowledges the important role Synergia has played in supporting quality improvement activities across the region by enabling practices to monitor their performance against the ten Practice Improvement Performance Measures.

While Synergia will no longer be available, existing general practice data extraction arrangements will continue, and practices participating in the Practice Incentives Program – Quality Improvement (PIP QI) should not experience disruption to their ongoing quality improvement activities or quarterly incentive payment processes as a result of this change.

During the review and evaluation period, there will be a temporary gap before any future dashboard solution is introduced.

Practices wishing to continue monitoring performance against the ten Practice Improvement Performance Measures can access relevant reporting through PenCS CAT4 recipes, available here.

WNSW PHN remains committed to supporting data-informed quality improvement and patient care outcomes across the region. Further updates regarding future reporting and analytics solutions will be communicated as the evaluation process progresses.

For assistance accessing CAT4 reporting resources or quality improvement support, practices are encouraged to contact the WNSW PHN Practice Development Team via practicedevelopmentteam@wnswphn.org.au or the Digital Health Team via digitalhealth.team@wnswphn.org.au
