Western Health Alliance Limited (WHAL), which operates the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is proud to announce the appointment of Carmen Dwyer as the new Chair of the WHAL Board.
WNSW PHN CEO Brad Porter said that Carmen brings a fresh perspective, grounded in her years of experience across multiple sectors.
“We are thrilled to welcome Carmen to our Board of Directors. Her extensive experience in strategic and public leadership, risk, crisis management, and governance will be a valuable asset to our organisation,” Mr Porter said.
WNSW PHN is guided by a skills-based Board that sets the strategic direction and oversees the implementation of our priorities. Our Board members bring a wealth of expertise in areas such as healthcare, governance, engagement, and policy development. They provide valuable insights and leadership to ensure we effectively address the health needs of our communities across Western and Far West NSW.
Carmen holds both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Applied Science and is a Graduate and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). She also a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in Strategic Leadership of Compliance and Enforcement Agencies.
An experienced leader, Carmen’s expertise includes risk identification and mitigation, crisis and emergency management, behaviour change, regulation, strategy and governance. She brings a significant national and international network and a strong record of executive leadership in the public service.
Carmen also currently serves on the Boards of the Western Region Academy of Sport and the Broken Hill Sulphide Street Railway and Historical Museum.
