Western Health Alliance Limited (WHAL), which operates the Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ricky Puata, Mr Anthony Paulson and Dr Aidan Tan as new directors to the Board.
Following the appointment of new Board Chair, Carmen Dwyer, this month, WNSW PHN is thrilled to formally welcome the new Directors at a Board meeting in Dubbo last week.
Ricky Puata has extensive experience across health, governance and economic development, and in leading strategic initiatives to strengthen communities.
“I’m passionate about ensuring regional voices are heard and that policies and services reflect the realities of people living and working in our rural and remote communities,” Mr Puata said.
Based in Orange, Ricky brings strong governance and leadership expertise from senior roles in government and the not-for-profit sector and is passionate about ensuring regional voices shape equitable outcomes for communities across NSW.
Anthony Paulson is a proud Worimi man (Forster, NSW) living on Biripi Country. Anthony brings extensive experience working respectfully with community, especially our First Nations communities. His career spans senior positions across both government and non-government sectors, with a strong focus on supporting rural and remote communities throughout Australia.
“It’s a privilege to represent and advocate for our communities,” Mr Paulson said. “I look forward to contributing to initiatives that strengthen access, equity and have positive impact for communities across Western NSW.”
Dr Aidan Tan is a paediatric doctor, health leader and experienced board director with governance experience across health, education and research sectors in Australia and internationally.
He serves on the Medical Board of Australia and several other boards, bringing strong analytical, governance and leadership expertise. Aidan is recognised for his commitment to integrity, collaboration and improving equity, diversity and accountability across the health and research sectors.
Western NSW PHN plays a vital role in driving innovation and equity across our region’s health system, Dr Tan said. “I’m honoured to join the WHAL Board to contribute to delivering better health outcomes in partnership with local communities.”
We’re incredibly excited to welcome Ricky, Anthony and Aidan to the Board,” said Brad Porter, CEO of Western NSW PHN.
“All three of our new Directors bring unique experience, strong leadership and a deep commitment to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for people across Western NSW.
“Their combined expertise will strengthen our strategic direction and enhance our ability to support healthier, more connected communities,” said Mr Porter.
