RACGP Rural Round-Up: Building connections across the rural health workforce

More than 60 health professionals came together for the RACGP Rural Round-Up Networking Function last Monday evening, connecting people from across the rural health workforce and those training for careers in the region.

The event brought together GPs, Rural Generalists, GP Registrars, medical students, hospital residents and key regional health partners. It was delivered through the strong partnership between RACGP, the Western Regional Training Hub and Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN).

RACGP Rural Chair Associate Professor Michael Clements spoke passionately about his journey in rural health, explaining how he merged his love of aviation and medicine. He also spoke to the nature of the rural clinical workforce, noting that they are often moulded by what is needed and deeply appreciated by their respective communities.

Dr Gerald Chitsunge presented the value the WNSWPHN brings to General Practice and the role it plays in providing much needed services across the region.

There were also opportunity to connect with a game of Find the Guest Bingo encouraging all attendees to mingle through friendly competition, with some lucky winners taking home prizes.

WNSWPHN is proud to support networking events which bring together the individuals who are making life changing contributions across our region and those in training to do so.
