New endometriosis management plan supports patient-centred care

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has launched a new Endometriosis Management Plan to help GPs and primary care teams provide coordinated, patient-centred care for people living with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.

The digital clinical tool brings evidence-based guidance and practical resources together in one place, supporting assessment, treatment planning, self-management, referrals and ongoing care. It can help primary health professionals take a consistent approach and work with patients to plan care around their individual needs.

The plan was developed by Monash University’s SPHERE Centre of Research Excellence in partnership with the RACGP, with funding from the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

GPs and primary care teams across Western and Far West NSW are encouraged to use the Endometriosis Management Plan to support assessment, shared decision-making and continuity of care in their practice.
