Presented by: Dr Sashie Howpage, Staff Specialist Endocrinologist, Dubbo Health Service – this session will provide an update on the current Australian Antenatal Diabetes in Pregnancy Guidelines, including both Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus; discuss the local burden of disease; explore screening for diabetes in pregnancy (who, when and how); outline management principles for pre-conception and planning for pregnancy, early pregnancy and post-delivery care, briefly review recent updates to diagnostic criteria for Gestational Diabetes and discuss pregnancy in women with a history of bariatric surgery.
