WNSW PHN GP Masterclass: Working Together for Young People’s Mental Health: Understanding CAMHS, Common Presentations and Referral Pathways

This session provides an overview of Western NSW Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, including the model of care, referral pathways and available supports for children, young people and their families. Participants will explore common child and adolescent mental health presentations. GPs will gain practical guidance on the assessment and management of child and adolescent mental health presentations, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches, referral pathways, and identifying when specialist mental health intervention is required. This session also provides an opportunity to better understand local services and strengthen collaboration between general practice and specialist mental health services.
