The Transcultural Mental Health Centre is facilitating this interactive online workshop to build skills, knowledge and confidence in working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities including those with migrant and refugee experiences. We will discuss the migration experience, diverse cultural heritage including our own unique cultural point of view. This shapes our interactions, from beliefs about health and treatment, to help seeking styles and participation with service providers. This is especially true regarding mental health and treatment for mental illness. There will be opportunities for discussion, self-reflection as well as practice tools and strategies that support our work in culturally diverse settings.
