This interactive CPD session provides rural GPs with a contemporary, practical update on antenatal care. Using real‑world case studies, the session will cover current antenatal screening and investigations, shared care models, recent guideline updates (including ADIPS 2025), prevention of pre‑eclampsia, genetic screening and immunisations. The focus is on what GPs need to know to provide safe, culturally responsive and evidence‑based antenatal care in regional practice.

Learning Outcomes

1 Identify recommended antenatal screening and investigation timelines using current Australian guidelines, including Australasian Diabetes in Pregnancy Society 2025 updates
2 Differentiate low and higher risk pregnancies in general practice and determine appropriate referral pathways and management”
3 Discuss shared antenatal care models and apply culturally safe, health literate counselling strategies, engagement and appropriate referral pathways for pregnant women in rural and Aboriginal communities.”
