The Western NSW Eye Health Partnership is proud to present another clinical pearl webinar! Hear from leading experts in both anterior and posterior eye care as they share practical, evidence-based insights you can apply immediately in your clinical practice.

Dr Capucine Odouard will present practical approaches to:

  • Herpetic eye disease
  • Blepharokeratoconjunctivitis (BKC)

Dr Rahul Dubey will discuss:

  • Recognising true retinal emergencies
  • Differentiating urgent from non-urgent retinal presentations
  • Navigating referral pathways for timely tertiary vitreoretinal care

This webinar will be moderated by Eliza Whiteley, a Geurie local and owner of Whiteley Optometry in Dubbo. Eliza holds a Master of Optometry with Ocular Therapeutic Endorsement from Deakin University, plus an Advanced Certificate in Children’s Vision, and has worked closely with local ophthalmologist Dr Liu with a focus on preventative eye health and managing chronic eye conditions.

Ideal for optometrists, general practitioners and other clinicians involved in eye care, the session aims to enhance clinical decision-making, support appropriate referral pathways and ultimately improve outcomes for patients with both common and vision-threatening eye disease.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise key clinical features of common anterior segment disorders, including herpetic eye disease and blepharokeratoconjunctivitis.
  • Apply practical management strategies for dry eye disease in community optometry settings.
  • Identify retinal presentations that require urgent ophthalmic assessment.
  • Differentiate true retinal emergencies from less urgent conditions.
  • Select appropriate referral pathways for patients requiring tertiary retinal services.
