Autonomic dysreflexia (AD) is a medical emergency that can occur in people with a SCI level T6 and above. AD can have a significant impact on the person and can impact on clinical decision making across all disciplines and settings.

This session will cover:

  • Pathophysiology of AD
  • Management of AD
  • Prevention AD

Attendees will gain:

  • Understanding of what autonomic dysreflexia is and potential complications
  • Gain knowledge about how to identify symptoms of autonomic dysreflexia
  • Understanding of management strategies for autonomic dysreflexia in inpatient and community settings
