The AHHA has released a Deeble Institute Evidence Brief on ˜What works’ in partnering to deliver effective Aboriginal health services: the Western New South Wales Primary Health Network experience. The release of the Evidence Brief follows the launch of the region’s Cultural Safety Framework on 18 August in Broken Hill by the Minister for Indigenous Health, Hon. Ken Wyatt, MP.

Psychological Therapy Services for under-serviced Groups

Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new service provider for the provision of Psychological Therapy Services for under-serviced Groups. From 1 October 2017, Marathon Health will provide services under a new model to those individuals requiring primary mental health care who are not likely to be able to have their needs met through Medicare subsidised mental health services.

The doors to the new Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) in Bathurst – a completely free service – have opened recently, just in time for Christmas.
The Bathurst Medicare UCC provides timely, fully bulk-billed urgent care for non-life-threatening conditions that need prompt attention but do not require a visit to the hospital emergency department.
