Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brendon Cutmore as Chief Executive Officer, who commenced this week.
WNSW PHN Board Chair Carmen Dwyer said Mr Cutmore was appointed following a comprehensive and merit-based recruitment process and brings extensive experience in health, community engagement and public service leadership.
Mr Cutmore is a proud Gamilaroi and Yorta Yorta man who has dedicated more than 20 years to working across social services and health in regional New South Wales. His experience spans frontline and executive leadership roles with a focus on supporting communities, strengthening partnerships and improving access to services for people living in rural and remote areas.
Mr Cutmore’s most recent role saw him work within NSW Health’s Regional Health Division, leading system performance, reporting and engagement functions and supporting health services across regional NSW to better understand and respond to local community needs. His work has focused on using data, local knowledge and community feedback to improve access to care and address health inequities experienced by regional communities.
Mr Cutmore previously served as Executive Director of Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing in Western NSW Local Health District, where he worked with Aboriginal communities, organisations and health services to improve cultural safety and health outcomes. He also played a key leadership role in the health system response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Cutmore said he was honoured to join WNSW PHN and looks forward to working alongside communities, partners and staff across the region.

WNSW PHN Board Chair Carmen Dwyer said Mr Cutmore’s experience and values have strong alignment with WNSW PHN’s purpose and strategic priorities.
“Brendon brings a deep understanding of regional health systems, strong relationships across the sector and a genuine commitment to working alongside communities to improve health outcomes.
“Throughout his career he has demonstrated a collaborative approach to leadership, a commitment to culturally safe care and a focus on ensuring communities have a strong voice in shaping the services that support them,” Ms Dwyer said.
Ms Dwyer also acknowledged the significant contribution of outgoing CEO Brad Porter, who concluded his tenure on 31 July 2026, after leading the organisation through a period of growth, reform and organisational improvement.
Mr Porter led the development of the WNSW PHN Strategic Plan 2026–2030, supported improvements to commissioned services, and championed the organisation’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.
Under Mr Porter’s leadership, the organisation launched the inaugural Western NSW Primary Health Excellence Awards and achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 accreditation.
