WNSW PHN's role in disasters and emergencies
Western NSW Primary Health Network supports the coordination of primary healthcare before, during and after disasters.
Emergency services and government agencies are primarily responsible for managing emergency responses. WNSW PHN supports their role by helping ensure that primary healthcare services across Western NSW remain connected, informed and able to support communities.
We do this by:
- Coordinating information and support across general practice and primary care
- Sharing timely updates and guidance from trusted emergency and health agencies
- Identifying service impacts and helping connect resources where needed
- Supporting recovery and ongoing community health needs
