Advanced Life Support 2 (ALS2) Course

ALS 2 is an Australian Resuscitation Council accredited course for health professionals who work in critical care areas and regularly manage or lead medical emergencies.

What you will learn:

  • Recognise, assess and manage the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach
  • Treat cardiac and respiratory arrest, including manual defibrillation
  • Manage life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Prepare and plan for post -resuscitation care
  • Care for the deteriorating patient or patient in cardiac/respiratory arrest in special circumstances such as asthma, anaphylaxis and pregnancy
  • Lead a team, work as a team member, and use structured communication skills, including effective handover

Cost
For anyone working in Western NSW, the cost of the course is $900. However, for anyone outside of Western NSW, the cost is $1500.
