NSW RDN Obstetrics webinar: LUSCS

Date: 07-05-2020 18:30:00 to 19:30

When 7h May 2020 6:30pm AEST

NSW Rural Doctors Network (RDN) invites Obstetrics Proceduralists to attend an Obstetrics webinar on Lower Uterine Segment Caesarean Section (LUSCS) with Dr Henry Murray.

A LUSCS can be difficult when you least expect it. Issues include maternal obesity, unexpected adhesions, very thin/transparent lower segment, abnormal fetal position, difficulty removing the fetal head - either from impaction or due to size, or unexpected placenta at the site of the incision. The webinar will discuss these issues and techniques for dealing with them.

Dr Murray is a Maternofetal Medicine Subspecialist, head of Maternity and Gynaecology at John Hunter Hospital, Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle and Acting Co-Director in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Wollongong Hospital. Dr Murray’s professional interests include performing Outreach high-risk clinics across the Hunter New England region and his research interest is in fetal monitoring.

Certificate of Attendance will be provided for GPs to self-record their professional development
